Living on credit, in love and in finances I can't be trusted, a ruse everlasting I haven't forgotten you, I've just switched bodies Preoccupied with this life, I'm sorry Sorry man but I dreamt about your girl last night Or maybe I was you, anyway it was super sexy Doesn't everybody wanna be somebody else? In a vast landscape I'm crowded by myself Thought I might drive all the way back Just to see if I missed something Seemed I was on track, now it's someone else Steering for me Imagery and getting by: my two concerns If you count this song that's three Eating shit to get ahead, what college taught me.
2.
Recall 05:12
Your night drives Help you like nothing else can (Cannot return, the car will not let you return) Your nightmares Blindside you and wake you up (Cannot recall, you try but you cannot recall) Recall that night or that day Realize that you can't go back This website offering me new memories Seems like a deal, seems like a hell of a deal Computer crashed Black screen reflecting all my shame Resurfacing feelings You thought that you forgot It hits you, brings you down to your knees Conjure those times by closing your eyes What you see: a fictional reverie Conjure those times by closing your eyes What you see: it's not a picture of you and me.
3.
Homeless 02:03
What am I if not homeless? What is it that keeps me tethered to this place? Yes I know how to show you my love Yet here I am sequestered in my pad again Contacts list like the yellow pages There's a name I know It's a winding path, no map No feet for the ground
4.
Though this was unplanned dear Some things haven't changed I'm still your man And when you dream I'll be there I'll constitute the atmosphere You're not a caged bird, "Golightly" No past or future You're not waiting 'round for rapture You gotta get outta town One foot now the other Since we been out of the clouds There's no lightning or thunder Honey you can see the boat Leave the harbor in your mind's eye But what you fail to see is the tragedy You're not a caged bird, a flight risk I've really lost you know You weren't waiting 'round for permission You gotta get outta town One foot now the other This train is never slowing down Your heart's the conductor One foot now the other We drive the misery out of each other
